Brian Cox

Prior to establishing Cox-James Architects, Brian Cox was Principal and Design Partner of Cox, James & Associates after serving for seven years as Associate and Director of Design with the Phoenix offices of Stewart, Romberger & James.

Cox’s work has appeared nationally in such magazines as Designer’s West, Interior Design, Architectural Record, Restaurant and Hotel Design, International Contract Design, Insite and The Designer.

An artist most of his life, Cox grew up amidst the lumber, millwork and construction industries, which in experience, proved to be invaluable today.

Awards include the American Institute of Architects Design Award of Excellence for his design work of the Desert Highlands Golf Clubhouse in Scottsdale, Arizona and the Westcourt in the Buttes Hotel and Conference and Conference Center in Tempe, Arizona. He has received the Arizona Design Institute Award of Excellence in Design Education, as well as nine American Society of Interior Designers Design Excellence Awards.

Work by Cox includes numerous corporate, financial, brokerage, accounting, legal, residential, restaurant, hotel and resort design as well as furniture design, art and graphics.
