Brigette Bardot! The mere mention of her name still unleashes a million fantasies. A half century after her debut, Bardot resurfaces through the imagination of Spanish design star Jamie Hayon as a curvaceous and alluring seating ensemble. Viewing icons through a new lens is second nature to Hayon and has produced an acclaimed body of work for leading brands around the globe. Bardot is Hayon’s second collection for Bernhardt Design following the release of the Serious Fun Textile Collection.

The energetic Hayon made his mark on the global scene in a mere six years by engaging us with his remarkably imaginative mind coupled with a brilliant sense of humor. His sometimes mind-bending designs succeed by conveying a sense of fun and he often joins in the merriment dressed in a bunny suit, donning top hat and tails, or decked out as Pierrot for the opening of his show Mon Cirque.

Hayon built his reputation by creating interesting and fashionable objects for companies like Baccarat, Gaia and Gino, Swarovski Crystal Palace, Lladro, and Camper. As a master of materials, crystal becomes brilliant with his focus on light, porcelain becomes art, and our impression of copper is transformed by his Grid Vases for Gaia and Gino.

Hayon has recently been called upon to paint on a larger canvas by creating unique interiors and architectural spaces. Upon entering the Faberge Salon in Geneva, you immediately experience serenity and sensuality. He evokes a completely different feeling at the restaurant La Terraza del Casino where he virtually transformed the old gentlemen's club and created an vibrant, young atmosphere.
Entering through doors with candy cane handles, Tokyo's Camper shop is reminiscent of a childhood trip to the candy store. Surprises at every bend; the circus inspired interior has no corners. Filtered light highlights his sporty yet classic shoes on display in a multitude of colors.

Surpassing our expectations with avant- garde ideas and memorable art installations, Hayon continues to score with his fearless approach to design. Diverse projects such as Jet Set, a full scale plane fashioned with Bisazza tile or a rocking hotdog in his American Chateau Collection keep us wanting more. A massive chess set in Trafalgar Square made of hand-painted pieces was the centerpiece of the London Design Festival and raised the city's awareness of design to a new level.
